Technologies enabling the distribution of TV Signals over IT Networks have been available for some time. More recently, these technologies have been refined to the point where their practical implementation is not only feasible but cost effective.

Typically the TV Distribution System would be on coaxial cable and installed along side the IT Network. The two systems would be completely separate. Enabling technology provides the integration of these systems; and in a variety of ways to meet the Customer's precise needs.

The TV Distribution System becomes virtually just another media facility on the Users computer.

TV signals are acquired and decode, and then fed into a Distribution Hub, which in-turn feeds into the IT Network. For Video Streaming applications the TV signals are distributed through the IT Network Hubs and Bridges, therefore bandwidth considerations must be made.

Alternatively, TV signals are distributed on UTP Structured Cable Networks. This will bypass the IT Network bandwidth issue. Although not strictly an IT Network solution this will utilise the "flood wiring" installed into many buildings.

In certain applications where the required number of channels to distribute and/or the required number of outlets are large and far reaching Coaxial Cable as a distribution medium becomes unworkable. In such instances IT Network and UTP Distribution Systems become particularly appropriate.

By no means is Coaxial Cable redundant as a distribution medium for TV signals; but, the options available to find a solution are now greatly expanded
